(The rain doesn't stop people here from going out and about.) Hope you enjoy the pictures of Isaac, Olivia, and Pug enjoying indoor hopscotch and plain old fun.

OUCH!

October has been the month of injuries at my house. On October 3rd Alison started us off with a painful left foot. She was diagnosed with plantar faecitious (I may have spelt that wrong). This has left her on crutches, it is getting better but she is still limping and using her crutches. One week later Jessica added to the list when she participated in a game at the Stake dance which left her with a sore and swollen right knee. She is healing but only after a week of dramatics, ibuprofen and neoprene knee brace. Well today I added myself to the list of invalids. As I was exiting my car to drop off my friends daughter from preschool, I was moving to quickly and turning to far before climbing to the ground from my Suburban. Instead of stepping freely from the vehicle my left knee hit directly into the steel frame of my car. I am now sporting a bruised knee-cap along with swelling, limping and a significant amount of pain. I don't think I damaged anything permanently. I surely hope not (I do have a dancing career to think about!). Well enough complaining. We are certainly a site my daughters and I, limping about, fighting over crutches. Funny how we all ending up with injuries that affected our ability to move around. Hopefully all will be healed by Christmas. Be Careful Out There!

Cake! It makes me sad to see my little Olivia already turning one. On October the 3rd it was official. She is the sweetheart of our family. Everyone still fights over who gets to hold her and play with her. I of course get to change as many stinky diapers as I want. Olivia is a patient, happy, curious and active little girl. I am grateful that she still enjoys nursing because that is the only time I get her all to myself and the only time she sits still long enough for a cuddle. I love her and can't imagine life without her. I hope you enjoy the pictures of her first year.

Bedtime Battle!

It is almost 10:30 pm and I am on the computer because I am waiting for my children to close their eyes and mouths and sleep. We started at 8:30, which I will admit was too late. Well I have now tucked everyone in nicely once. Put boys back to bed after another trip to the bathroom. Put Jacob in my room since he and Isaac won't stop talking to each other. The amazing thing is Samantha went to sleep in the same room with all of this going on. The reason that they are all in the same room is that I am also taking of few days to try and get my baby to sleep through the night again. We are letting her cry it out, it is going well. Back to the battle I have also laid Olivia in bed awake because when she was nursing and falling asleep her brothers made such a ruckus that she woke up and wouldn't go back to sleep, so it was off to bed. A few minutes later she had stopped fussing but then I could hear Isaac talking and giggling again so I thought he had gone in my room to visit with Jacob again, WRONG! He was in Olivia's room talking to her. Needless to say Olivia is now fussing worse than before and I have put Isaac back in bed one more time. Hopefully I won't end this drama by putting my back out when I have to carry Jacob back to his own bed, or risk being kicked to death as I try to sleep tonight. Kevan of course is out of town and probably sleeping peacefully in his own hotel room. I hate bedtime when I am alone, besides the little ones who won't sleep I have two teenagers whose internal clocks are on the late schedule. Oh well I guess that in about 20 years I will be able to go to bed when I want to.

We are never bored!

As always life in Idaho Falls is busy. Summer is supposed to be when you take it easy, right? I think someone forgot to tell that to my family and myself this year. We have traded school and homework with t-ball, softball, selling our home, girls camp, driving practice, donating hair, getting braces, 13th birthdays and playtime. For those who don't know by now we are trying to sell our house (know anyone who might be interested?). We are planning on buying a bigger home just around the corner. Sadly and gladly Kevan will still be the Bishop and we will still be in the ward we Love! We are so excited for the changes to come and can't wait to have our family and friends over for a visit after the move.

What a cute boy and smart too. We went on our first spring break vacation. It was also our first road trip of more than 4 hours to Utah. We made our way to Arizona during the last week of March. Everyone who knew we were going with 6 children, one that was only 5 months old, would laugh a little and say good luck. Well I am pleased to report that we survived. In fact I would say that it was a huge success. We had a great time. Dad didn't take his blackberry or computer. Mom didn't cook one meal. We all had fun just being together. The best part was watching our children see new things and the different scenery the further south we went. We chose to go to Arizona because both Kevan's grandmother and Shari's grandmother live there and because it is warmer in Arizona in March than it is in Idaho. We also wanted to show our kids where we went fo our honeymoon 18 years ago. Well now for our trips top 10 list.

10. Hearing funny stories about Dad at his mission reunion.

9. We had a barbeque that turned out to be quite a little gathering. Sam wanted teriyaki chicken, green beans and baked potatoes (she is definitely an Idaho girl). She also requested a choclate cake with chocolate frosting and sprinkles, homemade. Grandma and Grandpa Weaver were just going to come over to open presents and have cake. But that didn't happen. Business at Grandpa's seed company picked up because of the nice weather and he couldn't get away. So in his place Aunt Wendy, Kevan's sister and her kids, Cortney and Tyler came with Grandma. We also had Grandma Carol and Doug end up being there because they were headed to Canada. Rita and Rebecca also joined us. We had a great time and Sam made out like a bandit. She got cash, a pink hoodie, fleece throw pillow and blanket and a ipod shuffle. She is spoiled but not rotten. I can't believe how much Sam has changed this year it makes me sad because she won't be little much longer.

NAPTIME ANYONE?

This nap took place under Isaac's bed. He turned 3 in December and he thinks he is a bigger boy than he really is. He believes he doesn't need naps , you know he might miss out on the fun. Well when you see the places he has fallen asleep lately you who know what complete exhaustion is will relate. The term drop dead tired fits perfectly, because he just dropped in his tracks and took a nap right in the middle of all the fun.

This nap occurred while playing inside one of those pop open laundry hampers.

SUNSHINE!

(NOTE: This posting was originally supposed to post on March 12, but my computer was having problems and it wouldn't work so here it is.)

SPRING IS HERE! we think. She was so excited, and a little worried that when she got to the office the orthodontist would tell her that she had to wait a little longer because something wasn't quite right. Well all is well because they are off and her retainers are on. Her first reaction when they were removed was this " my teeth feel all slimey!" She has adjusted to the change in her mouth and is enjoying being able to bite into an apple to eat it, instead of cutting it up. We thought you would like to see a picture of her new BEAUTIFUL smile. Her teeth look so nice it makes mom think that maybe she could stand the discomfort of braces to improve hers just a bit. We don't know if Jessica set any records but she only had to wear her braces for 13 months. She is very glad that she will be able to get her first drivers license picture, minus the bling.

CHEEESE!

Fun, Frantic, Frightening February

I really need to do this more often because so many things happen every day and I want to share them all. So here are the highlights of February. First I had four children on antibiotics all at once, the reason - STREP and one big bad ear infection (that was Samantha). Second, Jacob turned SIX. I can't believe it he is growing up so fast. He got to pick out a new big boy bike and helmet for his birthday. Luckily his birthday was on Saturday and it had been warmer and rainy all week so when his birthday dawned SUNNY - he got to try out his new wheels.Third, I indulged in a splurge for Miss Olivia. Since she is my last baby I feel guilty buying anything that isn't absolutely necessary for her ( you know, it won't be used enough). But I just couldn't resist the Bumbo Babysitter. If you have never heard of this it is a seat that allows very young babies, once they can hold their heads up, to sit upright unassisted. Well Olivia likes it a lot and I love being able to get her off her back so she can see what is going on. Last but certainly not least, tonight I took my oldest child Jessica to the department of motor vehicles to get her SIP. SIP stands for Driver's Training/Supervised Instruction Permit. Yes she is starting drivers ed. I am scared and excited. I think Jessica will be a very conscientious driver, I am just scared to let the rest of the drivers out there have a shot at her. I am excited because a third driver will come in handy, especially when Kevan is out of town. We also had a good Valentines day. Both of our babysitters got outside jobs so I fixed Kevan and myself a nice dinner that we ate after the boys were in bed and while Samantha watched TV and Olivia in our room. I dipped strawberries in chocolate for the first time. It is so easy but so tasty. I also tried a new recipe for molten lava chocolate cakes. YUMMMY! add raspberries and whipped cream and Kevan's tummy was satisfied. We also had a good laugh watching the American Idol tryouts. I hope all who read this are doing well, I have nothing to complain about. Life is GOOD!

(I did manage to add pictures[thanks Heather] now I need to figure out how to put them where I want them)

Trying to do better!

Hello and Happy New Year! Well of course it is time to try to do better. You know New year's resolutions, we all make them. I am no different, every year I plan to work out more, eat healthier, procrastinate less. This year I have decided if I can just do a little better than last year I will have succeeded. Since last year at this time I was just starting a pregnancy, I figure it should be really easy to do better with all the physical aspects of life. To tell you the truth the things I really, really want to do better at this year are much more important to me than fitting into my favorite jeans. What I have decided to do better at this year is doing the things that the Lord wants me to do. I feel a great need to nurture the testimonies of my family and so last night I began. I have always struggled with how to teach my kids the gospel. Well not exactly how to teach it to them but how to make it important to them. I have been praying for help with this and I believe I have been sent some help. I was not given a revelation, or a vision or anything extraordinary. I have just had a little extra inspiration as I have read the church magazines and listened to sharing time in primary. Through this inspiration I have come up with a game plan for Family Home Evening. I think that my plans will help my family to come closer to our Heavenly Father this year and have a better spirit in our home. Here it is, it is simple. We are starting the year by learning about and memorizing the 13 Articles of Faith. After we have completed that we will be learning the stories from the Scriptures by using the Gospel Art Kit. Each picture has a story on the back and they will help us to learn gospel principles and the stories that reinforce them. I am so excited,we started last night with Article of Faith #1. It went very well and we had a great family home evening. We also played "Don't Eat Pete", it was a fun just being together. If anyone is interested I have a great resource for teaching the Articles of Faith, that I am more than willing to pass on. Good luck to all in the next year and with all the things in your life that you want to do better at. P.S. I am also going to do better with this blog, next learn how to post pictures. If you have easy to follow instructions on how to do this please share.

My first time!

Here I go!
